About Paula Easton

Our Mission

Aura Home Women Vets is a 501(c)3 non-profit.

Our mission is to create a safe, caring environment where women veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness can find the resources needed to regain or maintain their independence.

Homeless Women Veterans Are Confronted With Issues Like:

  • Converting military job skills to be competitive in the employment market;
  • Budget personal finances from change in pay and financial responsibilities;
  • Developing new habits and connections to reintegrate into civilian life;
  • Living without the structure and discipline provided by the military;
  • Feeling like an outcast amongst people without military life or combat experience;
  • Medical concerns like Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), loss of body parts; Fibromyalgia, Diabetes, Heart Disease, and cancers caused by their military service;
  • Mental Health concerns like depression, Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) caused by MST or combat, and suicidal thoughts;
  • Misinformation and bias when attempting to access resources available to veterans.
